Zangief

Zangief (ザンギエフ Zangiefu?, based on Russian Зангиев) is part of the Street Fighter series of fighting games. Zangief makes his first appearance in the original Street Fighter II as one of the original eight playable characters, appearing in all subsequent revisions of the game as well. In the Street Fighter II games, Zangief was characterized as a former professional wrestler who participated in the tournament to represent his country under the request of the Soviet President, an unnamed character resembling Mikhail Gorbachev (the actual real life Soviet President at the time). The subsequent home versions takes into account Gorbachev's resignation from office by having Zangief address the character as "Mr. Ex-President", although Zangief still represented the defunct Soviet Union in the games.

Zangief would return in Street Fighter Alpha 2 and its follow-up Street Fighter Alpha 3. In the Alpha series, Zangief is a national Russian hero nicknamed the "Red Cyclone" who becomes acquainted with Gorbachev at the end of Alpha 2 (the Alpha sub-series being set before Street Fighter II) and ends up fighting Shadaloo in Alpha 3.

Zangief is the only implied winner of the World Tournament held in Street Fighter IV. His ending is the only one that mentions the tournament as well as its ending. Zangief's photograph holding the beaten Seth (main boss and host of the tournament) in a headlock is then viewed by children who recognized Seth as the "bad guy from the TV". While the tournament is mentioned in the prologues of almost all the characters, only Zangief is shown discussing his win. Zangief is also well known worldwide in Street Fighter IV, as fellow pro wrestler El Fuerte calls Zangief "Tornado Rojo" (The spanish translation of "Red Cyclone")

Inuyasha

Inuyasha (犬夜叉 ?, also romanized as Inuyasha) is a brave but naïve half-demon. He had a close relationship to his mother, but never knew his father. Orphaned at a young age, InuYasha was rejected both by humans who feared his demonic powers and by demons who despised his human "weakness", with the latter group including his imperious half-brother Sesshomaru. This sense of alienation was compounded by his apparent betrayal by Kikyo, making him cautious about trusting anyone or exposing his emotions. InuYasha maintains a crass, rude attitude towards almost everyone, although he is slightly less rude to his usual companions. He tends to let anger to cloud his judgment and cause him to act rashly, often resulting in violence. He is particularly offended by suggestions that he is an inferior demon due to his human parentage. InuYasha has superhuman strength, speed, stamina, defense, healing, and senses; particularly hearing and smelling. He can also channel his demon energy into his claws into an attack named Iron Reaver Soul Stealer that, when combined with InuYasha's blood, is called Blades of Blood. When he is not in his human form and his life is in serious danger, he turns into a pure demon with an out of control personality.

InuYasha's sword Tetsusaiga (鉄砕牙 Tessaiga?) was forged from a fang from the mouth of his father, who left it to him as an heirloom. When the sword became damaged, one of InuYasha's own fangs was used to repair it. The sword enables him to use such moves as Kenatsu, the ability to cut an enemy without physical contact; Wind Scar, a special attack accomplished by finding the fissure or scar between colliding demonic winds of Tetsusaiga's wielder and the opposing demon; and Backlash Wave, which creates large twisters that redirect an enemy attack in conjunction with a Wind Scar. Tetsusaiga is also capable of the Adamant Barrage technique, in which Tetsusaiga's blade turns to fragmented diamonds and can be whipped to shoot out shards, and Meidō Zangetsuha (冥道 残月破 Meido Zangetsuha?), which creates a path to Hell.

In the anime, InuYasha and Kagome can jointly create the Sacred Backlash Wave by her firing a Sacred Arrow through InuYasha's Backlash Wave. Given directly from an orb of a bat demon, InuYasha was able to use the Barrier Breaker (红色鉄砕牙 ?) which renders most barriers useless. He can also use the Dragon-Scaled Tetsusaiga to absorb yōki energy.

After Kagome places the Beads of Subjugation necklace around his neck, she can use it to enforce simple commands upon him, often by using the word "sit" to make the beads yank him downward onto the ground.

Kagome Higurashi

Kagome Higurashi (日暮 かごめ Higurashi Kagome?) is a young girl of this manga and anime series. Her grandfather is the keeper of the Higurashi shrine which is a Shinto shrine near Tokyo. On her fifteenth birthday, Kagome tries to save her cat from falling down the shrine well and she is pulled into the Bone Eater's well by Mistress Centipede. This takes her back into time to the Warring States Period (Sengoku Jidai) of Japan, where she finds the half demon whose name is InuYasha.
Powers and Abilities :
Purification Powers
This ability means anything Kagome touches gets purified. By gathering an enormous amount of concentrated power into her right palm, she can direct it at her opponents. She also uses this to purify the Jewel.
Spiritual Powers
Kagome can pass through barriers, spells, and/or illusions. Kagome is also able to sense evil auras and is unaffected by them. If possible, she is able to surround herself with her own spiritual powers to ward off any evil. It is later revealed that her powers are, to a great extent, sealed by the Shikon no Tama, so she may have other powers than these. According to Rumiko Takahashi, Kagome is potentially much stronger than Kikyo herself. Because Kagome is the reincarnation of Kikyo, Kagome most likely has Kikyo's power to add to her own. In chapter 539 of the manga, when Magatsuhi was killed by Sesshoumaru, the complete extent of Kagome's spiritual powers were released.

Shikon Jewel Detecting
This allows her to sense the exact location of the Shikon Jewel shards. While other characters have shown a vague ability to see Shikon shards, only Kagome and Kikyo are able to sense the shards remotely.
Time Travel
Kagome can travel back and forth 500 years between the present and the Feudal era using the magical well behind her family's shrine. InuYasha and Kagome seem to be the only two characters in the series who are capable of doing so.
In the final chapters of the series, after the destruction of the Shikon Jewel, the well appears to temporarily shut down for three years. Kagome attempts to go back in time regularly, but is unsuccessful. However, after her high school graduation, she successfully time travels through the well.
Beads of Subjugation (Sit)
Placed around InuYasha's neck by Kaede and empowered to "subdue" him at a word from Kagome. This slams InuYasha into the ground whenever she says the words "sit". The effect wears off quickly and InuYasha is able to get up again.
Kyūdō (lit. Way of the Bow)
Kagome uses a basic bow as a weapon. Once she infuses her powers into the bow, she can use it to reflect an enemy's attack. Kagome uses a shortbow. This changes when later on in the manga, she locates a longbow with special spiritual powers. It has the power to strike evil spirits or the user's intended target bypassing others, if the opponent should happen to be using a hostage as a shield, the arrow will bypass the hostage and hit the enemy instead, only by using this particular bow.
Sacred Arrow
Kagome infuses her powers into her arrows. This allows the arrows to penetrate demonic forces and to purify objects.
Sacred Backlash Wave
This attack is actually a combined effort between InuYasha and Kagome. It consists of Kagome firing one of her Sacred Arrows into the center of InuYasha's Backlash Wave before it connects. When it hits the enemy there is a higher chance that he will be destroyed by the combined powers.

Kikyo

Kikyo (桔梗 Kikyō?) means "Chinese bellflower" in Japanese, which symbolizes "Unchanging Love". During her life, Kikyo was a powerful priestess with a calm reserved manner. With her kindness, she had helped many people along her path. She was apparently very intelligent as well, and although she rarely smiled with joy, she showed her internal sadness at times. Her only wish was to become an ordinary woman. However, since she was a priestess with tremendous spiritual power, she felt that it would be inappropriate for her to express any personal emotions in front of anyone. Kikyo was first introduced as the previous incarnation of Kagome, with whom InuYasha had once quarreled with in the events preceding the main story. However, it is later revealed that Kikyo and InuYasha were beginning to fall in love, but were tricked into betraying each other by Naraku. Kikyo was led to believe that InuYasha was leading her on to steal the sacred jewel at the time of her death.

When Kikyo was resurrected by the Urasue, she was consumed with hate and the desire for revenge on InuYasha, the person she considered directly responsible for her death. Initially, Kikyo's soul is full of only this dark desire for revenge on InuYasha, but later changed her focus to Naraku after learning it was his doing. She is often seen helping the needy and ill along her way while wondering if she'll ever find peace. She learns the whole story of InuYasha's betrayal when she asks Kaede to relay it to her. Though initially cold-hearted with a vengeance when she was resurrected, Kikyo learned new lessons every day, and still loved InuYasha even when her main goal in her new life was to kill Naraku in order to reclaim the Shikon jewel from Naraku's corruption.

Abilities and Techniques
Sacred arrow (Hama no Ya) (破魔の矢)
The magic arrow of a shrine maiden, though Kikyo is actually an exception — her purifying powers (like Midoriko's) are unique to her and Kagome (her reincarnation) — other mikos do not have the same extent of purifying ability to destroy demons. Kikyo can slay demons using her arrows enchanted with her spiritual powers. Usually demons are completely obliterated when struck.
Arrow of sealing (Fūin no Ya) (封印の矢)
She used this arrow to seal InuYasha to the Sacred Tree (Goshinboku) after Naraku tricks her into believing that InuYasha attacked her.
Paralyze
With a simple touch is able to paralyze her victims (e.g. Kagome).
Pit of Hell
Kikyo once attempted to bring InuYasha to hell with her as her souls and soul collectors, were drawn into a hole that she was creating, possibly meaning she is connected with the afterlife by bringing enemies to hell, as she is a spirit.
And many more.

Sesshomaru

Sesshomaru (殺生丸 Sesshōmaru?) is the older half-brother of the series' protagonist, InuYasha. Sesshomaru's role in the series has varied from antagonist, to hero, and most often an anti-hero, depending on his current situation, but he is consistently shown as InuYasha's rival and the two have fought many times. Their rivalry runs deep, influenced primarily by Sesshomaru's hatred for half-breeds (which InuYasha is) and his blaming InuYasha for the death of their father. He also hates InuYasha for possessing their father's legendary sword Tetsusaiga, which he believes is rightfully his.
The weapons used by Sesshomaru :

Tenseiga (天生牙 ?, lit. Heavenly Life Fang)
Tenseiga (also known as the 'Immortal Fang' or simply 'Heavenly Fang') is a sword that can revive the dead. It does this by letting Sesshomaru see the pall-bearer imps that take away the souls of the dead so that he may destroy them with Tenseiga. In extreme cases, the Tenseiga also protects Sesshomaru from potentially lethal attacks. When in use, the Tenseiga has a blue aura. Later in the manga, the Tenseiga is reforged by Tōtōsai to become a weapon, allowing Sesshomaru to use the Meidou Zangetsuha. It is later revealed that the ability and the sword itself is merely a cast off of the Tetsusaiga; his father wanted Sesshomaru to master the Meidou Zangetsuha, then pass it back to InuYasha, knowing that InuYasha couldn't handle the technique himself. Sesshomaru discards the sword as his father wished, giving the ability back to the Tetsusaiga and making the Tenseiga only a healing sword once again.
Tōkijin (闘鬼神 ?, lit. Demon-Fighting God)
Tōkijin is a sword crafted by the evil sword smith Kaijinbō from the fangs of Goshinki as part of Sesshomaru's continued efforts to obtain Tetsusaiga or a sword matching it in power. It can fire off extremely powerful blasts of pure evil energy, but because it is filled with Goshinki's malice, only Sesshomaru can wield it without being controlled by it. Tōkijin can be used to blow back and injure an enemy with a powerful pinkish-purple aura, generated as the manifestation of pure hatred. It can also be used to slash at an opponent either directly or with kenatsu, and, like Tenseiga, can perform Sōryūha; however, being "only an oni's fang," Tōkijin initially could not withstand repeated uses of Sōryūha the way that Tenseiga could. Later in the manga, Sesshomaru broke Tōkijin while battling Mōryōmaru, and afterwards abandoned the broken pieces with no further interest in keeping the sword. He instead searched for a replacement, which he found in the Meidou Zangetsuha ability of the Tenseiga.
Bakusaiga (爆砕牙 ?, lit. Explosive Crushing Fang)
Bakusaiga is Sesshomaru's most recent signature weapon. The Bakusaiga manifested itself in the hand of Sesshomaru's fully regenerated, and longtime-severed, left arm during his battle with Magatsuhi. The sword is the polar opposite of the Tenseiga, as it has the power to decompose any organic material that its blade comes in contact with, nullifying any regenerative abilities while doing so. Miroku comments that Naraku would suffer the same affliction should he absorb any demon wounded by Bakusaiga. The blade itself is the manifestation of Sesshomaru's own true power, born from his detachment of InuYasha's Tetsusaiga. Its birth signifies Sesshomaru's graduation into a full-fledged daiyōkai, which was long compromised by his obsession with Tetsusaiga. Totosai comments that his ability to manifest his own blade suggests his strength has surpassed that of his father's and connotes his growth through the many trials he endured to emerge as a daiyōkai, with the Bakusaiga serving as the product of this 'rite of passage'.
Much like the Tetsusaiga's Kaze no Kizu, the Bakusaiga can also unleash massively powerful amounts of yōki, enough to slay thousands of demons with one swing. Though similar, Rumiko stated that Bakusaiga's wave attack, which is similar to the Kaze no Kizu, possesses greater power than a full power Bakuryūha from Tetsusaiga.
Staff of Two Heads
The Staff of Two Heads is also called the Staff of Skulls, nintōjo or Two-Headed Staff. It can locate Sesshomaru's father's grave or perhaps Tetsusaiga itself, as well as blast streams of flame. The Staff of Two Heads is usually held by his assistant Jaken.
Also, it has been shown that the Staff of Two Heads can be used to summon yōkai.
